The Wedding of Susan and Darden

January 11th, 2005

I got an email one day.... It said "I'm getting married in Maui on January 11th, please stop by if you're in the neighborhood". Well we couldn't turn down an invitation like that, so Dave and I cashed in our air miles and booked a week in Maui! During all of our travels we had never been to Hawaii together and double bonus, my brother was getting married :)

Since Darden and Susan were both so busy with work, they decided on a no hassle elopement, I mean wedding! A few decisions here and there, picking a restaurant for dinner, booking the flight, and packing the dress was all it took. The wedding rendezvous point was at their hotel on a cliff overlooking the ocean.

We met at the hotel that afternoon dressed in our fancy clothes and armed with the camera. The hotel staff drove us to the cliff side in a chariot (little golf cart), on a beautiful sunny afternoon. As we stood in silence with the waves crashing in the background, rings were exchanged, promises were made, and a kiss was shared...

As I said, the landscape was quite impressive!

We took tons of pictures of the family.

After the wedding there was a champagne toast.

Finally everyone could relax for the evening.
